When I was 28, I recovered repressed memories of childhood trauma.
This changed everything. From then on, I knew everyone had secrets from themselves - and that we were all, as a society, held captive by the secrets we keep. Our society has shaped
Consciousness is formed, nurtured or broken, by events. that completely rearranged my priorities and ways of viewing the world. Starting then, I put my attention on the subject of child maltreatment and what could be done about it. I had many adventures in trying this or that, stories best saved for another time. But the essential piece of my story is: when things seemed most hopeless, I prayed with certainty of receiving a response. I was given a heavenly feeling that humans are inherently designed for something oh so much better - and I felt a lovely urge to write, on a series of occasions. The writing came from a place of wisdom and peace that was bigger than me, and bigger than the problems I wished to solve. It formed a book which I wrote, but I felt more like the book was writing me.
I called that book Natural Laws of Human Being. That book shows how the laws of physics actually apply to our energy-selves. The theories and insights revolutionized my notion of healthy child-raising and how to deal with family dysfunction, showing exactly how spiritual wellness is built or taken apart. Natural Laws is a metaphysical book, and it uses words that Christianity uses, but differently.
I tried weakly, back then, to have the book published, but that effort didn't feel good, not in the same way that writing had felt good, so I stopped trying to publish. Instead, I wrote spin offs and created other things. I thought, the market is flooded with "science meets religion" books (much like mine) but none offered the special emphasis on solving family violence that my book brings forward. I thought, maybe that thread would be worthwhile to share on its own. I decided to lift those parts out from that book: just the practical messages that were specifically tied to family violence or abuse recovery, leaving behind theology or metaphysics. This decision yielded the booklet Applied Human Rights: Overview of Cultural Recovery from Domestic Maltreatment, which did stand pretty well on its own. You can find it on the Table of Contents page. This move also initiated an ongoing prompt in me to write the rest of the essays in the Domestic Nonviolence collection.
I can't tell you about me, without telling you about these writing pieces. These mean everything to me, have given me hope through the years. I now feel comfortable sharing Natural Laws of Human Being, and I offer you my best in sharing the meaning in these books and hope that we, together, can derive a new strength for healing personally, in community and globally.
