Circle of Friends Church: Proclamation

We form this Assembly to establish the reign of Human Rights in every part of our Human lives. It is our purpose to heal humankind of all destruction of the whole human spirit, which is cause to the problems of violence and poverty and crime.

Our implements of healing are Rights to Privacy, which is Sanctuary; Rights to Free Assembly with Peers, which is Fellowship; Rights to Free Speech, which is Confession; and the bonding of marriage that is Matrimony. These are the Sacraments: elements of a healing tradition that can take the human being into rapturous communion with God.

We are citizens of the United States. The United States Constitution and Bill of Rights ensure our first Amendment right to conduct our business of healing. Further, it is our need to correct the national and state systems of law. Spiritual health contains humane society and requires Constitutional Law.

Within our church, we do not recognize the authority of any State, Local or Federal law that is at variance with the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights. We will not deliver up members on unconstitutional charges, unconstitutional warrants, unconstitutional orders, nor for unconstitutional punishments.

We will press to repair our national and state systems of law when they vary from our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We hold the Constitution and Bill of Rights to be an implement of human healing, to be a document inspired by God and rendered by human hand, and our sacred charter and guide.
